    Product details

Per Koch Bulletin PB-693, the Koch SprayStop 3400 Series Paint Arrestor is a hi-capacity hi-efficiency expanded paper paint arrestor combining 3300 efficiency with high-capacity paper. Per Koch PB-693, paint arrestors are disposable paint overspray collectors designed to prevent paint solids from reaching the exhaust stack. SprayStop Expanded Paper is composed of several layers of slit and expanded paper — these layers form a progressively dense weave, open on the air-entry side and gradually becoming tighter toward the air-exit side. This multi-layer design ensures full depth loading and long service life through the paint arrestor.

What you get: pads and rolls in this series

SprayStop 3400 Series is available in multiple form factors on this page — pre-cut pads for standard pad frames and bulk rolls/bags for cut-to-size installation. Each variant label tells you exactly what you're getting and how many. Available sizes for the 3400 Series:

    • Bulk Rolls / Bags (cut to size on-site):

    Regulatory Reference

    NESHAP compliance: 6H vs. 6X

Paint spray booth operations in the United States are regulated under the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), codified in 40 CFR Part 63. The two subparts most relevant to spray booth filtration are Subpart 6H and Subpart 6X.

    Subpart 6H

Auto Body & Miscellaneous Surface Coating

40 CFR Part 63 Subpart HHHHHH applies to auto body refinishing, collision repair, and miscellaneous surface coating of motor vehicles and mobile equipment.

Spray booth exhaust filtration must demonstrate paint overspray capture efficiency at the level required by the rule, with media tested under ASHRAE 52.1 or an equivalent EPA-recognized method.

    Subpart 6X

Area Source Metal Fabrication & Finishing

40 CFR Part 63 Subpart XXXXXX applies to area-source metal fabrication and finishing operations, including spray painting of fabricated metal parts.

Compliance typically requires control of particulate hazardous air pollutants from spray application through filter-based capture systems verified for the specific coating operation.

Provided for general reference only and does not constitute regulatory or legal advice. The end user and facility operator are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local air quality regulations. Filter selection for a regulated coating operation should be confirmed against the facility's air permit.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Paint spray booth filtration questions

From sizing and NESHAP compliance to change-out cadence and pallet ordering — here's what booth operators ask before they buy. For product-specific specs, check the description above.

    Sizing & fit
How do I figure out which paint booth filter I need?

Start with the booth manufacturer and model, then identify the filter slot location: intake (ceiling) filters sit upstream of the spray operation; exhaust (paint arrestor) filters sit downstream and capture overspray. Each stage uses different media designed for that purpose.

Then verify the slot dimensions on your booth — manufacturers occasionally revise filter slot specifications between model years and production runs. When in doubt, measure the existing filter or consult the booth manufacturer's documentation, or request a quote with your booth model and we'll confirm sizing.

My booth slot dimensions don't match a stocked size. Can you do custom?

Yes — custom paint booth filtration is made to specification for older booths, retrofits, and non-standard slot dimensions. Request a quote with the booth manufacturer, model, slot location (intake or exhaust), exact slot dimensions, and the media type or efficiency level required, and we'll confirm what's available and the production lead time.

What if the filter doesn't fit my booth?

You're covered by our Filter Fit Guarantee. If a stocked filter doesn't fit as expected, contact us within 30 days and we'll make it right — including a custom-sized replacement when slot dimensions don't match standard. Customers are responsible for verifying booth filter slot dimensions before ordering, but if you're close and the size is borderline, call us at 866-469-8556 before placing the order and we'll spec it correctly the first time.

    NESHAP & compliance
Do these filters meet NESHAP 6H requirements?

Paint arrestor products in this catalog are commonly specified for auto body and miscellaneous surface coating operations regulated under 40 CFR Part 63 Subpart HHHHHH (6H). Specific product capture efficiency and ASHRAE 52.1 test data are listed in the product description.

The end user and facility operator are responsible for confirming that the selected filter meets the applicable rule for their specific coating operation and air permit. The product description contains the manufacturer-published performance data needed to make that determination.

What's the difference between NESHAP 6H and 6X?

Subpart 6H (40 CFR Part 63 Subpart HHHHHH) covers auto body refinishing, collision repair, and miscellaneous surface coating of motor vehicles and mobile equipment.

Subpart 6X (40 CFR Part 63 Subpart XXXXXX) covers area-source metal fabrication and finishing operations, including spray painting of fabricated metal parts.

Both rules require filter-based capture of paint overspray and particulate hazardous air pollutants, but capture-efficiency requirements, recordkeeping, and test methods differ. Operators are responsible for confirming which subpart applies to their facility.

Can RememberTheFilter.com tell me which rule applies to my shop?

No — we supply filtration products and general reference information. We do not provide regulatory determinations, permitting guidance, or legal advice. Determining which NESHAP subpart, state implementation plan, or local air district rule applies to a coating operation is the responsibility of the facility operator, in consultation with their environmental compliance officer or regulatory authority. We can confirm filter specifications and performance data once you know which rule and capture efficiency you need to meet.

    Change-out & performance
How often should I change paint booth filters?

Change cadence is driven by booth runtime, coating volume, paint type, and manometer reading — not by a calendar. Most operations replace exhaust paint arrestors when the booth's static pressure differential reaches the manufacturer's published change-out point (typically marked on the booth's manometer). Intake (ceiling) filters are usually changed on a longer cycle than exhaust arrestors.

Running filters past the change-out point reduces airflow, can compromise overspray capture, and risks pushing the booth out of compliance with its air permit. Booth manufacturer documentation is the authoritative source for change-out triggers on your specific equipment.

What's the difference between intake and exhaust paint booth filters?

Intake (ceiling) filters sit upstream of the spray operation. Their job is to clean inbound air before it reaches the paint application zone — reducing dirt, lint, and airborne particles that would otherwise contaminate the finish. Common media: tackified polyester or fiberglass diffusion media.

Exhaust (paint arrestor) filters sit downstream of the spray operation. Their job is to capture overspray before exhaust air leaves the booth. Common construction: progressive-density paint arrestor pads, accordion-style fiberglass, or pleated panels engineered for high holding capacity.

What about disposal of used paint arrestor filters?

Used paint arrestor filters loaded with paint overspray may be classified as hazardous waste depending on the coating chemistry, applicable state and federal rules, and how the facility manages waste streams. Disposal is the responsibility of the facility operator and should be handled in accordance with the facility's hazardous waste management program and applicable EPA, state, and local regulations. RememberTheFilter.com supplies replacement filtration; we do not provide waste disposal guidance.

    Shipping & delivery
How fast will my paint booth filter order ship?

Standard stocked paint booth filters ship within 1–2 business days from the warehouse nearest to your shipping address. Most orders arrive in 2–5 business days via UPS or FedEx for case quantities. Pallet quantities ship LTL freight with delivery typically within 5–10 business days depending on destination.

Custom-sized filters are made to order and have their own production lead time. Live timelines on our production schedule page.

    Do you ship pallet quantities?

Yes — pallet, partial-pallet, and full-truckload quantities are routine for collision shops, OEM finishing, and industrial coating operations. Pallet orders ship LTL freight to commercial addresses; residential delivery and lift-gate service are available at additional cost. Request a quote with your filter spec and quantity for pallet pricing and freight estimates.

    Bulk, PO & government
Do you offer volume pricing for collision centers and OEM finishing lines?

Yes. Volume pricing, scheduled delivery, and standing rotation orders are available for collision centers, OEM finishing operations, government fleet maintenance, woodworking finishing, aerospace finishing, and industrial coating operations. Request a quote with your filter specs, booth manufacturer/model, and estimated annual volume, or visit Commercial Services for the full commercial lineup.

Do you accept POs and net terms? Are you set up for government and military buyers?

Yes to both. Purchase orders and net terms are available for established commercial accounts. RememberTheFilter.com is family-founded and supplies government and military buyers regularly — W-9, certificate of insurance (COI), NDAA Section 889 documentation, tax-exempt setup, and PO/net terms are all available on request.

For tax-exempt setup, submit your certificate through our tax-exempt purchases page and we'll configure your account so future orders ship tax-free with no repeated paperwork.

Can we set up a recurring delivery schedule that matches our production cycle?

Yes — scheduled delivery on a cadence that matches your production rhythm is one of the most common arrangements for collision shops and OEM finishing accounts. Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or by-runtime triggers are all on the table for established accounts. Contact us at 866-469-8556 or request a quote with your facility's typical change-out cadence and we'll structure the standing order around it.
