The Koch Multi-Test MT 90/95 Cartridge Filter is an extended-surface synthetic cartridge engineered as a drop-in replacement for Farr HP basket framework without housing modification. The MT 90/95 tier delivers 90-95% dust spot efficiency per ASHRAE 52.1, which corresponds to approximately MERV 14 per the modern ASHRAE 52.2 test standard. Specified for near-HEPA secondary filtration in critical applications and HEPA pre-stage installations.
What you get: sold by the case
Multi-Test cartridges are sold by the case, not individually. The price you see for each variant is the full case price, and each variant label tells you exactly how many filters are in that case. Case counts vary by size:
-
12x24x8 — available by quote (typical case quantity: 12 per case). Request a quote for current pricing and availability.
-
16x20x8 — 12 filters per case
-
20x20x8 — 10 filters per case
-
20x25x8 — 10 filters per case
-
24x24x8 — 10 filters per case
-
12x24x12 — 10 filters per case
-
24x24x12 — 10 filters per case
-
12x24x24 — available by quote (typical case quantity: 5 per case). Request a quote for current pricing and availability.
-
24x24x24 — 5 filters per case
Need a partial case, individual filter pricing, or a different quantity than the standard case? Per Koch policy, carton quantities are approximations and we can adjust on quoted orders — request a quote with your exact count and we’ll work out the pricing.
Farr HP basket replacement
If your facility uses Farr HP basket framework, the Multi-Test cartridge is a direct sourcing option. Koch engineered Multi-Test cartridges to drop into existing Farr HP baskets without any housing modification — same dimensions, same collapsible cartridge geometry. Multi-Test cartridges are collapsible replacement cartridges, which lets the cartridge fold compactly for transport and storage and then expand to fill the Farr HP basket on installation.
This product line gives facilities running Farr HP equipment an alternative supplier for ongoing changeouts, particularly important when OEM Farr HP cartridges become difficult to source or quote.
Why "MT MT 90/95" naming — ASHRAE 52.1 vs 52.2
The Multi-Test product line predates the modern ASHRAE 52.2 (MERV) rating system — the four MT tiers (20/50, 50/60, 80/90, 90/95) are named with the older ASHRAE 52.1 dual-metric efficiency designations. The first number is approximate dust spot efficiency; the second is approximate arrestance.
For specifying engineers and modern HVAC documentation, here’s the approximate MERV correspondence used in industry:
-
MT 20/50 → approximately MERV 8
-
MT 50/60 → approximately MERV 11
-
MT 80/90 → approximately MERV 13
-
MT 90/95 → approximately MERV 14
For applications requiring formal MERV documentation against the 52.2 standard, reference Koch bulletin K 1187 or contact us for the latest spec sheet.

When the Multi-Test MT 90/95 is specified
-
Pharmaceutical and clinical applications — manufacturing, compounding, labs with Farr HP basket frames where ~MERV 14 capture is required
-
Surgical and procedural spaces with Farr HP equipment as a final filter or HEPA pre-stage
-
HEPA pre-stage filtration — protects expensive HEPA final filters from premature loading, extending HEPA service life dramatically
-
Cleanroom installations using Farr HP basket framework
-
Critical-environment commercial buildings — research facilities, university labs, biotech
What ~MERV 14 captures
Captures most sub-micron particles, fine smoke, bacteria, and many viruses. Used in hospitals, surgical and procedural spaces, pharmaceutical environments, and as a pre-filter ahead of HEPA stages in cleanroom and laboratory installations.
Choosing across the Multi-Test line
Koch offers four efficiency tiers in the Multi-Test cartridge line, all designed to fit Farr HP basket framework:
-
MT 20/50 (~MERV 8): 20-30% dust spot efficiency. For prefilter and equipment protection.
-
MT 50/60 (~MERV 11): 45-55% dust spot efficiency. For mid-efficiency commercial HVAC.
-
MT 80/90 (~MERV 13): 80-90% dust spot efficiency. For high-IAQ commercial and healthcare.
-
MT 90/95 (this product) (~MERV 14): 90-95% dust spot efficiency. For near-HEPA secondary, pharma, labs, HEPA pre-stage.
If your application calls for a different efficiency, see the matching sister product. All four tiers share the same collapsible cartridge geometry and Farr HP-compatible fitment — the difference is just which efficiency tier matches your design spec.
Sizing and ordering notes
-
Specify both face dimensions and depth. Cartridges are sized as Width x Height x Depth (e.g., 24x24x12). Match all three dimensions to your Farr HP basket — cartridges cannot be cut or trimmed in the field.
-
Each variant shows its case quantity in the dropdown label. Look for "(Case of N)" next to each size — that’s how many filters are in the case at that price.
-
Baskets sold separately. The Multi-Test is a replacement cartridge for existing Farr HP framework. If you need new baskets or supporting hardware, contact us for compatible options.
-
Carton quantities are approximations. Per Koch policy, please state the exact number of filters required when ordering — we can adjust for partial cases on quoted orders.
-
"Call for Quote" sizes: Some sizes are catalog items but require direct quoting due to lower order volume or build-to-order production. These show "(Call for Quote)" in the variant dropdown — request a quote for these sizes or for facility-scale orders.

Need a Cambridge Hi-Cap or Side-Cap replacement instead? See the Koch Duo-Cap line for the Cambridge equivalent. Different basket framework, same drop-in replacement strategy.
