The Maxi-Grid 550 25″ High Link Panel is the antimicrobial, heavy-duty variant in the 25″-high linked panel line — pre-linked 3-ply MERV 8 panels with two key upgrades over the standard MG300 25″ Link: the media is treated with an antimicrobial agent to inhibit microbial growth on captured organic matter, and the internal support wire is heavy-duty for maximum frame rigidity in demanding side-access installations. Initial pressure drop is 0.28″ w.g. at 400 FPM per panel with a dust holding capacity of 268 grams at 1.5″ w.g., identical to the MG300 25″ Link.
What link panels are and why they matter
Link panels are pre-linked continuous strips of individual filter panels designed to drop into side-access filter housings as a single unit. Standard panel filters (front-access) install one panel at a time into a holding frame; link panels replace an entire row of filters in one motion. Two operational benefits result:
- Eliminated air bypass: Conventional individual panels can leave gaps between filters or at the end of a track, allowing unfiltered air to pass through. Link panels are continuously joined — no gaps, no bypass.
- Faster installation and removal: Maintenance personnel pull and replace one continuous unit per filter track instead of multiple individual panels. Significant labor savings on large air handlers.
This product covers the 25″-high panel section of the Maxi-Grid MG550 link line — the maximum panel-section height in the standard Maxi-Grid family. Each linked unit is built around 25″-tall individual panel sections joined together. Choose the number of panels (2 through 8, or the 24-panel Master Link) based on the length of your housing track, and the panel width (25″x12″ through 25″x25″) based on your housing depth.
25″ vs. 24″ panels — which do you need?
The 25″ line is the maximum height in the standard Maxi-Grid Link family, and the extra inch over the 24″ line matters in retrofit situations where the housing track is just slightly taller than 24″. Always measure your filter track height before ordering — if your track is 25″ tall, ordering 24″ panels will leave a 1″ bypass gap at the top of the track, which defeats the purpose of using link panels in the first place.
Need a different panel-section height?
If your housing uses shorter filter tracks, see the matching Koch Maxi-Grid MG550 24″ High Link Panel, 20″ High Link Panel, 16″ High Link Panel, or 12″ Standard Link Panel. Same construction, same MERV 8 rating, same case-pack pricing model — just sized for shorter housings.
When Maxi-Grid MG550 25″ Link Panel is specified
- Healthcare and clinical facilities with 25″ side-access housings — antimicrobial treatment is meaningful for biological-load environments
- Food processing and hospitality in large 25″ side-access configurations
- High-moisture installations — humid and condensing environments where standard panel media might support microbial growth
- Demanding commercial 25″ side-access AHUs — heavy-duty wire support adds rigidity for installations with rough handling or vibration
- Long-cycle commercial HVAC — antimicrobial protection extends practical service life between changeouts
Sizing the link panel to your housing
Each 25″ link panel is identified by two dimensions:
- Panel count: How many 25″-tall panels are linked end-to-end. Available from 2-panel (24″-26″ total length range) up through 8-panel (200″-208″ total), plus the 24-panel Master Link (continuous extra-long unit). Select the count that matches your housing track length.
- Panel width: 25″x12″, 25″x16″, 25″x18″, 25″x20″, 25″x22″, or 25″x25″. Match to your housing depth.
The 25″ line offers 6 panel widths ranging from very narrow (25″x12″) to fully square (25″x25″) — covering the full housing-depth range at the maximum standard panel-section height.

What MERV 8 captures
Captures dust mite debris, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, and most household and office airborne dust. The standard residential and commercial efficiency for everyday indoor air quality, balancing capture performance with airflow.
Antimicrobial treatment
The MG550 Link Panel media is treated with an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms on captured organic matter (dust, skin cells, pollen, etc.). This makes the MG550 a strong choice for installations where captured biological material would otherwise become a substrate for microbial growth over the filter’s service life — healthcare environments, food processing, hospitality, and high-occupancy commercial buildings. The antimicrobial treatment protects the filter media itself; it does not actively kill airborne pathogens passing through the filter.
Choosing across the Maxi-Grid 25″ Link Panel line
Koch offers four Maxi-Grid sub-lines in the 25″ high link panel format:
- MG200 25″ Link (MERV 7): Most economical, 3-ply, downstream tackifier. Equipment protection and prefilter applications.
- MG300 25″ Link (MERV 8): All-purpose workhorse, 3-ply, lowest pressure drop in the line. Standard commercial HVAC.
- MG400 25″ Link (MERV 11): Higher efficiency, 4-ply, higher pressure drop. Light-industrial and high-IAQ commercial.
- MG550 25″ Link (MERV 8): Antimicrobial-treated 3-ply with heavy-duty wire support. Healthcare, food processing, high-moisture sites.
Form-factor decision: 25″, 24″, 20″, 16″, or 12″ Link — or Standard Panels?
- This product (25″ Link): Pre-linked continuous panels, 25″-tall sections, for side-access housings with 25″ filter tracks. The maximum standard Link Panel height.
- 24″ Link Panel (sister product): Same construction, 24″-tall sections.
- 20″ Link Panel (sister product): Same construction, 20″-tall sections.
- 16″ Link Panel (sister product): Same construction, 16″-tall sections.
- 12″ Link Panel (sister product): Same construction, 12″-tall sections, for housings with 12″ tracks.
- Standard Panel (front-access): Individual panels installed one-by-one into front-access holding frames. Different form factor entirely.
Sizing and ordering notes
- Confirm your housing track length, depth, and panel-height requirement before ordering. Match panel count to track length, panel width to housing depth, and panel-section height (25″ here) to your filter track. Ordering the wrong panel-height creates bypass gaps that defeat the purpose of link panels.
- Sold by the case. Carton quantity varies by panel count: 2-panel link = 12 units per case; 3-panel = 8; 4-panel = 6; 5-panel = 5; 6-panel = 4; 7-panel and 8-panel = 3; 24-panel Master Link = 1 per case. The variant price is the case price.

A filtration company, not a warehouse reseller
Family-founded in 2006, built on the back of 50 years of HVAC filtration experience. Two decades selling filters online — and we only stock what we'd put our own name behind.
Trusted manufacturers only
Every filter we sell comes from a manufacturer we've vetted — AAF Flanders, Koch, NaturalAire, PrimeShield, and a short list of others.
No marketplace-style third-party sellers swapping inventory. No overseas knockoffs relabeled with a domestic-sounding name.
Two decades online
RememberTheFilter.com has been selling HVAC filters online since 2006 — family-founded, founder-operated, and still run by the people who started it.
Schools, clinics, property managers, and homeowners have been ordering from us for years — some of them since before Amazon even sold filters.
Nationwide shipping network
Our distribution network ships from multiple U.S. locations — so most orders arrive faster than coast-to-coast routing would suggest.
Customer service is based in Lake Stevens, Washington — U.S.-based, reachable by phone, text, or email.

What customers say about Koch Maxi-Grid MG550 Antimicrobial Heavy-Duty 25" High Link Panel Filter MERV 8 - Sold by the Case
Answers to the questions we get every day
From sizing and MERV ratings to bulk orders and subscriptions — here's what customers ask before they buy. For product-specific specs, check the description above.
How do I know what size filter I need?
The size is printed on the edge of your current filter. Read the nominal size — for example, 16x25x1 — and order that size. The actual filter will measure about 1/2″ less than the nominal size on each dimension. That's industry standard and is how the filter slides into the slot without binding.
If the printed size is worn off, measure the filter slot itself — not the old filter — and round up to the nearest standard size. Our How to Measure guide walks through it step by step.
What if the filter doesn't fit my system?
You're covered by our Filter Fit Guarantee. If the filter doesn't fit your system as expected, contact us within 30 days and we'll make it right — including custom-sized replacements for non-standard slots. One flat $30 fee covers exchanges under the guarantee, and we'll walk through sizing with you so the replacement fits the first time.
Do you offer custom filter sizes?
Custom filters are made to specification down to 1/8″ precision — useful for older homes, clinical spaces, schools, and commercial AHUs with non-standard slot dimensions. Available in every MERV rating from 1–4 through 13, plus washable and extended-surface options.
If you don't see your size listed in our standard lineup, contact us or request a quote and we'll confirm what's available in the media and efficiency you need.
What is a MERV rating and which one do I need?
MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) is the industry-standard scale for how effectively a filter captures airborne particles. Higher numbers capture smaller particles. Most homes do well on MERV 8 to MERV 11. MERV 13 is the step up for pets, allergies, or wildfire smoke exposure — if your HVAC system supports it.
The MERV Rating Explained guide has the full breakdown, or take the 60-second MERV quiz for a personalized recommendation.
Will a higher MERV filter hurt my HVAC system?
Not when it's matched properly. Higher MERV filters do add airflow resistance, but most modern furnaces and air handlers handle MERV 11 comfortably, and many support MERV 13 — especially systems with 4″ or deeper media cabinets. The filter slot depth matters as much as the MERV rating.
Older systems (pre-2000) or tight 1″ slots may struggle with MERV 13. If airflow feels weak from vents, the blower sounds strained, or the coil ices up, step back down to MERV 10 or MERV 11. When in doubt, upgrade in steps — MERV 8 → 11 → 13 — and monitor for a cycle before moving up again.
What's the difference between MERV, MPR, and FPR ratings?
MERV is the universal industry standard, published through ASHRAE 52.2 testing and used by HVAC professionals worldwide. MPR (Micro-Particle Rating) is 3M's internal scale for their Filtrete line. FPR (Filter Performance Rating) is Home Depot's proprietary rating for filters sold in their stores.
MPR and FPR roughly correlate to MERV within their own brand lineups, but they aren't directly comparable across retailers. A Filtrete MPR 1900 is roughly MERV 13; an FPR 10 is also roughly MERV 13. Always check the MERV rating for an apples-to-apples comparison.
What is pleated filter media made out of?
Pleated filter media is a synthetic nonwoven fabric — most often polyester, sometimes a cotton-polyester blend — pleated over a supporting frame of galvanized wire or paperboard. The pleats add surface area, and the frame holds them open so the media keeps its shape under airflow.
How fast will my filter ship?
Standard stocked filters ship within 1–2 business days from the warehouse nearest to your shipping address. Most orders arrive in 2–5 business days via UPS or FedEx. Custom-sized filters are made to order and have their own production lead time listed in the product description.
Current production and shipping timelines are always live on our production schedule page.
Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or PO boxes?
We ship to Alaska and Hawaii — shipping is calculated at checkout based on the address. Free shipping on orders $50+ applies to the lower 48 contiguous states only; AK and HI orders ship at carrier rates.
PO boxes cannot be accepted. Filter boxes are physically oversized and our carriers (UPS and FedEx) won't deliver to PO boxes at this size. You'll need a street address, business address, or pickup location for delivery.
Can I return or exchange a filter I don't need?
Unopened stocked filters can be returned within 30 days under our refund policy. Custom-sized filters are made to your specification and aren't returnable unless they arrived damaged or incorrectly sized from us.
If a filter arrives damaged or doesn't match what was ordered, submit a claim and we'll replace it — no back-and-forth.
How does the subscribe & save option work?
Most filters ship on recurring delivery at a 10% discount — cadences from every month through every 6 months, plus an annual option at 5% off. Pick the interval that matches your change-out schedule on the product page, and we'll auto-ship on time with no reordering required.
You're only charged when an order ships, and the discount applies to every delivery — not just the first one.
Can I pause, skip, or change my subscription?
Yes, any time. Pause, skip a delivery, change the cadence, swap the filter, update the shipping address, or cancel entirely — all from your account dashboard. No emails required, no hold times, no cancellation fees. See our subscription policy for the full details.
Do you offer bulk pricing for schools, clinics, or property managers?
Yes — bulk and volume pricing is available for facilities, multifamily properties, fleets, and any organization ordering in standing rotation. We work with schools, clinics, property management companies, government agencies, and industrial facilities on recurring orders with negotiated pricing.
Request a quote with your filter specs and estimated annual volume, or visit our Commercial Services page to see the full commercial lineup.
Are you set up for tax-exempt and government purchases?
Yes. We work with schools, government agencies, non-profits, and resale-exempt buyers regularly. Submit your certificate through our tax-exempt purchases page and we'll set up your account so future orders ship tax-free with no repeated paperwork. Purchase orders and government procurement are supported for established accounts.
Are these genuine name-brand filters?
Yes. Every filter we stock comes from a manufacturer we've vetted — AAF Flanders, Koch, NaturalAire, PrimeShield, and a short list of others. We don't operate as a marketplace, so there's no third-party seller swapping inventory behind the listing.
If you've had issues with counterfeit or low-quality filters from other sellers, that's one of the reasons customers switch to us. Real brands, same specs every time, same source every time.
