The Maxi-Grid 400 Standard Link Panel is the higher-efficiency option in the linked panel line — pre-linked 4-ply MERV 11 panels for side-access housings where finer particle capture is required in a panel form factor. Initial pressure drop is 0.48″ w.g. at 400 FPM per panel with a dust holding capacity of 195 grams at 1.5″ w.g. The extra ply enables MERV 11 capture; the higher pressure drop is the engineering trade-off. Specify the MG400 Link Panel for offices, schools, hotels, and light industrial systems where MERV 11 is the target.
What link panels are and why they matter
Link panels are pre-linked continuous strips of individual filter panels designed to drop into side-access filter housings as a single unit. Standard panel filters (front-access) install one panel at a time into a holding frame; link panels replace an entire row of filters in one motion. Two operational benefits result:
-
Eliminated air bypass: Conventional individual panels can leave gaps between filters or at the end of a track, allowing unfiltered air to pass through. Link panels are continuously joined — no gaps, no bypass.
-
Faster installation and removal: Maintenance personnel pull and replace one continuous unit per filter track instead of multiple individual panels. Significant labor savings on large air handlers.
Configure the link panel to match your housing length: each Maxi-Grid MG400 Link Panel is built around 12″-tall individual panel sections joined together. Choose the number of panels (2 through 8, or the 24-panel Master Link) based on the length of your housing track, and the panel width (12″x22″, 12″x24″, or 12″x25″) based on your housing depth.
When Maxi-Grid MG400 Link Panel is specified
-
Offices, schools, hotels with side-access housings requiring MERV 11 capture
-
Light-industrial systems in side-access configurations
-
Healthcare and laboratory pre-filtration — ahead of MERV 13+ final stages in side-access AHUs
-
Variable-air-volume systems with side-access housings — the 4-ply construction holds up to airflow swings
-
Paint spray booth final stages with side-access where MERV 11 capture is required
Sizing the link panel to your housing
Each link panel is identified by two dimensions:
-
Panel count: How many 12″-tall panels are linked end-to-end. Available: 2-panel (12″x44″-46″ total length), 3-panel (66″-69″), 4-panel (88″-92″), 5-panel (110″-115″), 6-panel (132″-138″), 7-panel (154″-161″), 8-panel (176″-184″), or the 24-panel Master Link (continuous extra-long unit). Select the count that matches your housing track length.
-
Panel width: 12″x22″, 12″x24″, or 12″x25″. Match to your housing depth.

What MERV 11 captures
Captures fine dust, smoke, auto fumes, and most airborne particles down to 1 micron. A strong general-purpose efficiency for offices, schools, hotels, and light industrial.
Why 4-ply construction
The MG400’s additional media layer is what enables MERV 11 capture in a panel form factor. The four progressively dense layers each capture a specific particle-size range — coarser particles in the upstream layers, finer particles in the downstream layers. This staged capture also extends service life by distributing particle loading across all four layers. The trade-off is the higher initial pressure drop (0.48″ w.g. per panel); confirm your blower can handle this resistance before specifying.
Choosing across the Maxi-Grid Link Panel line
Koch offers four Maxi-Grid Link Panel sub-lines, each tuned for a different application:
-
MG200 Link (MERV 7): Most economical, 3-ply, downstream tackifier. Equipment protection and side-access prefilter applications.
-
MG300 Link (MERV 8): All-purpose workhorse, 3-ply, lowest pressure drop in the line, encapsulated tackifier. Standard commercial HVAC.
-
MG400 Link (MERV 11): Higher efficiency, 4-ply, higher pressure drop. Light-industrial and high-IAQ commercial.
-
MG550 Link (MERV 8): Antimicrobial-treated 3-ply with heavy-duty wire support. Healthcare, food processing, high-moisture sites.
Link Panels vs. Standard Panels
If your housing uses a front-access design (single panels installed one-by-one into a holding frame), use the standard Maxi-Grid MG400 Panel rather than this link panel. Link panels are purpose-built for side-access housings where the entire continuous unit slides into a track.
Sizing and ordering notes
-
Confirm your housing track length and depth before ordering. Match the panel count to track length and panel width to housing depth.
-
Sold by the case. Carton quantity varies by panel count: 2-panel link = 12 units per case; 3-panel = 8; 4-panel = 6; 5-panel = 5; 6-panel = 4; 7-panel and 8-panel = 3; 24-panel Master Link = 1 per case. The variant price is the case price.
