Product details
Per Koch Bulletin SS-3stage, the Koch SprayStop E-Pak 950 is the Stage 3 final filter in the SprayStop NESHAP 3-Stage System — available in 5-pocket and 6-pocket variants with a Self-Seal header that eliminates overspray bypass. Per Koch SS-3stage, the 3-Stage System is designed for applications where the removal of overspray particulate, especially chromates, must adhere to NESHAP Test Method 319 for Aerospace painting and de-painting operations. Per Koch SS-3stage, the system is specifically designed for aerospace spray booths that were in use AFTER October 29, 1996. (For aerospace booths in use BEFORE October 29, 1996, see the SprayStop NESHAP 2-Stage System with E-Pak 650 instead.)

About the SprayStop NESHAP 3-Stage System
Per Koch SS-3stage, the complete 3-stage system pairs E-Pak 950 (Stage 3) with Maxi-Grid 300 (Stage 2) and SprayStop SHC (Stage 1). The added Stage 2 panel filter is what allows the 3-Stage System to capture finer particles than the 2-Stage System — making it the configuration of choice for aerospace booths put into operation after October 29, 1996.
- Stage 1: SprayStop SHC (High Capacity Polyester) — pads, blankets, or rolls. Browse SprayStop SHC media for Stage 1 sizing.
- Stage 2: Maxi-Grid 300 (3-Ply Internally-Supported Panel Filter) — per Koch SS-3stage Stage 2 product listing. Browse Maxi-Grid panel filters for Stage 2 sizing.
- Stage 3 (this product): SprayStop E-Pak 950 (5 or 6 Pocket High Efficiency Final Filter with Self-Seal Header)
For aerospace spray booths put into operation BEFORE October 29, 1996, the SprayStop NESHAP 2-Stage System (E-Pak 650 + SHC) is specified instead. See the SprayStop E-Pak 650 product page.
5-Pocket vs 6-Pocket selection
SprayStop E-Pak 950 is available in both 5-pocket and 6-pocket configurations, and both are specified by Koch as part of the SS-3stage product line. The variant dropdown lets you select which configuration matches your booth's pocket-filter rack count. Pocket count, depth, and face dimensions all need to match your housing specification — verify with your booth documentation before ordering. For configuration assistance, request a quote with your booth specs.
Sizing and ordering notes
- Match the filter face dimensions to your booth's pocket-filter rack openings. E-Pak 950 filters slide into standard 5-pocket or 6-pocket pocket-filter housings as the Stage 3 final filter.
- Choose 12″ or 15″ depth based on housing clearance.
- Choose 5-pocket or 6-pocket based on your booth's pocket-filter rack design. Do not mix-and-match without verifying the housing.
- Each variant ships 8 filters per case. Order multiple cases by adjusting the quantity at checkout.
- "Call for Quote" sizes: Many sizes (especially 6-pocket and smaller face sizes) require direct quoting due to lower stock volume. Request a quote for these or for facility-scale orders.
- Self-Seal header simplifies installation — per Koch SS-3stage, eliminates overspray bypass without requiring separate gaskets.
- Stage 1 SHC media and Stage 2 Maxi-Grid 300 panels sold separately: A complete 3-Stage System requires all three stages. Browse SHC media | Browse Maxi-Grid panels.
- Custom sizes and configurations: Per Koch SS-3stage, "Please consult the factory for other sizes and configurations." Request a quote for non-standard requirements.
- Disposal: Follow your local hazardous waste regulations for paint-saturated arrestors, including chromate-laden filters which may require additional handling per your facility's hazardous waste protocols.

NESHAP compliance: 6H vs. 6X
Paint spray booth operations in the United States are regulated under the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), codified in 40 CFR Part 63. The two subparts most relevant to spray booth filtration are Subpart 6H and Subpart 6X.
Auto Body & Miscellaneous Surface Coating
40 CFR Part 63 Subpart HHHHHH applies to auto body refinishing, collision repair, and miscellaneous surface coating of motor vehicles and mobile equipment.
Spray booth exhaust filtration must demonstrate paint overspray capture efficiency at the level required by the rule, with media tested under ASHRAE 52.1 or an equivalent EPA-recognized method.
Area Source Metal Fabrication & Finishing
40 CFR Part 63 Subpart XXXXXX applies to area-source metal fabrication and finishing operations, including spray painting of fabricated metal parts.
Compliance typically requires control of particulate hazardous air pollutants from spray application through filter-based capture systems verified for the specific coating operation.
Provided for general reference only and does not constitute regulatory or legal advice. The end user and facility operator are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local air quality regulations. Filter selection for a regulated coating operation should be confirmed against the facility's air permit.

Verify Booth Filter Slot Dimensions Customers are responsible for verifying their paint spray booth's filter slot dimensions, frame depth, and any equipment-specific mounting requirements before placing an order. Booth manufacturers occasionally revise filter slot specifications between model years and production runs. When in doubt, measure the existing filter or consult the booth manufacturer's documentation prior to ordering.
Compliance Responsibility The end user and facility operator are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local air quality regulations, including but not limited to NESHAP 40 CFR Part 63 Subpart HHHHHH (6H), Subpart XXXXXX (6X), state implementation plans, and local air district rules. RememberTheFilter.com supplies filtration products and general reference information; we do not provide regulatory determinations, permitting guidance, or legal advice. Filter selection for a regulated coating operation should be confirmed against the facility's air permit and applicable rules.
