How this started
During the dot-com boom, Beau's father — then in the middle of a 50-year career in commercial HVAC — made an offhand comment: "Somebody should sell filters online." It stuck. Years later, at 24, Beau finally took the leap. Long story short: he tracked down AAF Flanders — one of the largest filter manufacturers in the world, and a partner we still work with today — built a website, and sold his first case of filters out of a Pacific Northwest garage in 2006.
That first-case moment is still the shape of how we operate — find the best manufacturers, build real relationships with them, and put the right product in front of the customer without the markup games. Beau grew up around the industry, and his father's 50 years in commercial HVAC is still the expertise foundation baked into how we select product, how we answer questions, and why we've never carried anything we wouldn't install in our own system.
His dad had another piece of advice: "Commercial is where you want to be." That took longer to get to. Residential is what got us here — thousands of homeowners over two decades, learning the business one case at a time, building the operational muscle to handle serious accounts. Today we serve schools, hospitals, hotels, military installations, and government buyers with the same care and product discipline we started with — now at scale. The residential side didn't get left behind; it got us the experience to do both well.

We custom-cut filters to 1/8″ precision through our Exact Filters® program, and we serve schools, hospitals, hotels, military installations, and federal, state, and municipal government buyers through RTF Commercial Services.
Customer service still runs out of Washington State. We still answer the phone ourselves. And every order — whether it's a single 16x25x1 for a Seattle bungalow or a standing quarterly delivery for a 50-building campus — gets treated like it matters, because it does.
