Rigid Cell (Box) HVAC Filters

Rigid cell filters—also called box filters or V-bank filters—are commercial HVAC filters that replace the role of bag filters in AHUs where space is tight, vibration is a concern, or high airflow rates demand a more dimensionally stable filter. The pleated media is locked into a rigid box frame (usually galvanized steel or heavy-duty plastic), which means no sagging, no flapping, and consistent performance across the filter's service life.

Rigid vs. Bag Filters

• Rigid: better for high-airflow AHUs, vertical-flow orientations, and vibration-heavy environments
• Bag: better for maximum dust-holding capacity when space allows the pocket depth

• Commercial and institutional AHUs (schools, offices, hotels)
• Hospital air handling units (often paired with HEPA final filters)

Available Efficiencies & Depths

MERV 11, MERV 13, MERV 14, and MERV 15 are the most common commercial specs. Standard depths are 12″ and 22″, in 4-V and 6-V configurations. We stock AAF Flanders VariCel, PerfectPleat Ultra, and equivalent rigid cell lines.
