PrimeShield is RememberTheFilter's exclusive pleated filter line, produced to PrimeShield specifications by one or more partner manufacturers. We built the line to give customers a consistent, authorized alternative to re-labeled overseas filters and big-box markup — made to the same construction standards we'd accept from any branded filter we carry.
How do the five PrimeShield tiers compare?
MAX Airflow is fiberglass — maximum airflow, equipment protection (loads MERV 1 to MERV 4 in service). Essential is MERV 8 pleated — baseline capture of pollen and dust. Enhanced is MERV 10 — finer dust and mold spores. Advanced is MERV 11 — pet dander and allergens. Elite is MERV 13 — the highest residential-grade capture including respiratory aerosols.
How often should I change my PrimeShield filter?
For 1″ pleated filters (Essential through Elite), every 60–90 days is typical for most homes. Heavy pet households, smokers, or dusty regions may need 30–60 day changes. MERV 13 often needs slightly more frequent changes due to higher particle capture. Check visually once a month.
How does PrimeShield compare to generic filters on Amazon?
Marketplace listings are flooded with knockoffs, rebrands, and inconsistent construction from sellers you can't verify — including overseas-sourced filters relabeled with a domestic-sounding name. PrimeShield is built to our specifications by vetted partner manufacturers, sold through the same authorized channel we've used since 2006. You get consistent quality, real customer service in Everett/Lake Stevens WA, and a fit guarantee.
Can I upgrade my system from MERV 8 to MERV 13?
Most modern residential HVAC systems handle MERV 13 fine, but older or undersized systems can experience reduced airflow. If your system already runs hard during peak heating or cooling, check with your HVAC technician before stepping up past MERV 11. Increased filtration means increased static pressure.
Do you carry custom PrimeShield sizes?
Yes. Our custom filter builder handles non-standard pleated sizes in 1/8″ increments across the PrimeShield MERV range. For bulk facility or property-management orders, request a quote.
What sizes does PrimeShield come in?
