There isn't just one kind of asthma and you might be surprised to know how many types there actually are. A doctor diagnoses you with this but you may feel some of the symptoms even if you aren't clinical diagnosed. The most popular five types are allergic, non-allergic, nocturnal, pregnancy and occupational.

Allergic is triggered by allergens such as pollen or pet dander (Allergen Home Furnace Filters help with this). Non-Allergic is triggered by irritants in the air such as tobacco smoke, wood smoke, room deodorizers pine odors, fresh paint, household cleaners and perfumes. Nocturnal asthma seems to worsen in the middle of the night. If you are pregnant and have asthma 1/3 of women experience improvement in symptoms, 1/3 remain stable and 1/3 experience worse symptoms. If you are pregnant speak to your physician about steps to help. Occupational asthma is something that is new to you and is brought on by the workplace. This does not include people that have already been diagnosed prior to this workplace.

If you feel as though you experience one of these types of asthma there are ways to help. So live life and don't live in fear of an attack.
