Furnace Filters and Air Conditioner Filters
Furnace filters and air conditioner filters play a major role in your indoor air quality (IAQ). With many styles of filters available including pleated and fiberglass it can be tough to figure out what type of filter best fits your needs. With one of the largest selections of furnace filters for you to choose from including Naturalaire, Flanders Precisionaire and 3M Filtrete.
As a 3M Filtrete filter authorized retailer you will find all of the models including the new 3M Filtrete Elite which is the best performing pleated 1" furnace filter on the market. We also stock the 3M Filtrete Ultimate, Ultra, Micro and Dust Reduction 300 in all sizes.
There are two common styles of filters that can be found in most HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning) systems. Pleated furnace filters are the better of the two for pulling particulate out of the air such as Mold Spores, Dust Mite Debris, Pet Dander and Household Dust. By pulling these and other particles out of the air, your family will breathe cleaner, healthier indoor air. With fiberglass filters (basic filters) you are not going to get the added benefits as you would with pleated furnace filters, this style of filter is designed to protect your HVAC equipment.
When dirty filters are left in a system they begin to restrict airflow, restricted air flow means your system is going to work harder to push the same amount of air. This can cause damage to your system and also raise your utility usage. It is recommended that fiberglass furnace filters be changed every 30 days and pleated furnace filters be changed every 90 days. This is simply a recommendation as all situations are different. For instance a home that is being remodeled may need more frequent changes since the air quality will likely be worse then average conditions. When comparing pleated furnace filters a good rule of thumb is the MERV rating, the higher the MERV rating the better the filter will do at pulling particulate out of the air so it doesn't recirculate in your home or business.
With over 80 sizes of filters you can be sure to find the size you need, if not we can make custom furnace filters to your exact size. Custom furnace filters will be made to your exact dimensions giving you the perfect fit.
